Hi All - thanks for the ideas. We had a power outage last night, so this is the first I'm back online.

I've been thinking about SITD, and focusing mostly on quilting in the black sashing. I like the suggestion of SITD every fourth/fifth strip in the striped bars. I've only done one project with curved quilting/free motion, so I'd describe my skill level as very low...

The pattern is an adaptation / minaturization of a pattern by Brenda Miller (Among Brenda's Quilts) called California Rain. It is one of the Hoffman free quilt patterns for their line Full Spectrum. http://www.hoffmanfabrics.com/conten...sp?ImageID=458

On my blog, I've described the process I used to miniaturize the pattern. I also changed one element, as I don't care for the corners on one part replacing a more solid corner with a droplet instead.

Because I ended up making an extra set of strips, I've got extra and have plans to use them in another miniature. The colors in this project were partly chosen by the tastes of my swap partner. I plan to try this one again, using my favorite colors with 1/2 inch as the base measurement versus the 3/4 inch base I'm using here.

Cheers, K
