It sounds neat but would be hard for some to use in patterns.
Some of the blocks I did had so many little pieces, having seams to deal with wouldn't have worked for me.
I would have been afraid to try harder more detailed blocks if there were other seams to work with.
Just my thoughts but I'm a ninny sometimes
