I had rotts for years - they are very loyal dogs - my husband worked away from home for years - and we lived out of town - it was a great comfort for me to have my guard dog (just don't show up with a sandwich - he was liable to eat the sandwich then show you where the valuables were)- it was tough when we traveled - not alot of places will allow a rott on their property. Give them a big squeeze for me.
