I take a 2.5 inch strip, fold in half and machine sew to back of quilt. Then I flip it over and hand stitch to front of quilt. I miter the corners. I love doing the binding. there are great videos on line regarding how to do this.
(aka double fold binding)
do the same but flip to back, do not like single bindind or unmitred.
