Lassie, for my ancient Singer industrial that was probably made sometime in the 30's. I was told that the model number indicates it was made in Scotland. Hence Lassie. (It's definitely not a dog!)

Incidentally, it's my second machine of the (nearly) same type. The original one, I bought because the salesman told me I would NOT wear it out within my lifetime. And he was right. I've had it since 1986, and it has been in for repairs only once. Now that's what I call reliability! This one was made in the US. It doesn't have a name though. Not because I don't care about it, but because, well, it's more of an "it goes without saying". Or, something like, it's so close to me that it doesn't NEED a name. If I did give it a name, it would be something along the lines of "my right arm". You get the idea.
