Line up 1st striped piece with the black piece. (like making a log cabin)
Sew HALF the black block.
Line up 2nd striped piece with the first striped piece & black piece.
Repeat with 3rd & 4th striped pieces
Now you can finish sewing the 1st striped piece to the black piece and the 4th
