I have been trying to make a lap quilt for a friend who has a mass in her abdomen near her liver and pancreas. It is being biopsed and she has been in the hospital 1 week. Well I want to do this in a timely fashion and decided to use some of my stash as well. I cut large 12.5 blocks of an inspirational piece of fabric I had. I was able to make 9 squares. Then I was planning to trim each block with a 3 inch squares making 4 per side plus a corner piece but I erred and made 2.5 in blocks so I had to cut enough for 6 per side. I finished cutting and was ready to sew, but first I had some tension issues to resolve on my machine. Now it doesn't work at all. My DH dragged out my old Kenmore (I am recovering from some surgery so I could not lift it up) and I started sewing the blocks. Three done--6 to go. I get so frustrated when I have an idea ready to go and mechanics slows me down!
