I can't add to the other topic I had so here goes...A few months ago we were allowed to have Afghan women quilt and sew with us. I had a hard time getting photos uploaded so this is a rare opportunity and I hope it works. These women had no idea that there were American women on our compound. The people outside the gate think that we are in prison because we did something bad.To them we are in jail because of our protective measures. They were so astonished to learn what we were really doing here and how liberated American women are. They hand quilt everything or use treadles from Pakistan and China. Electricity is very iffy here. We had to discontinue our program in the first week of August because of security issues. We are keeping in touch through email (imagine that)!
