Here is some more Ireland info from a Wisconsin quilter, Chris Kirsch who leads quilt tours all over the world:
It sounds like its going to be a great show. When we took our "Sew-We-Go" tour to Galway we stayed at the Glenloe Abbey. It is a beautifully restored Abbey that is now a 5 star hotel. Their website is:
http://www.glenlo.com/. I would highly recommend it :-).
We were blessed to have high tea at the Abbey with a group of quilters from the Galway branch of the Irish Patchwork Society who are a big part of the effort to put on the 2012 show. A delightful and talented bunch!
We visited 3 quilt shops in the west of Ireland:
the Limerick Quilt Centre (Winander House, Park Road; Limerick
The Crafters Basket in Cliffony, Cty Sligo (a ways north) and
Rags for Linda in Oughterard, Cty Galway, www.ragsforlinda.com.
All very nice shops.
Hope that helps.
