I am making a wallhanging as a gift for someone who is not knowledgeable about quilts. It is approximately 28x28. I thought that it would look nice hanging from a wrought iron curtain rod with clips. I would just space the rings out so that the weight was evenly distributed.

However, the saleslady at my LQS gave me a gentle reminder about a hanging sleeve by saying to make sure that I make the sleeve long enough so that the corners don't sag. Or to make sure that if I put tabs on it to make sure they go all the way to the ends.

Do I really need to do either? Does anyone send explainations with their quilt gifts?
