Thanks Paper Princess. I appreciate your comments and will look at your links. I know leaves aren't perfect but mine are definitely not like the picture in the instructions. I'm pretty new to quilting and was just wondering if I'm even sewing them right. Thanks for your help.

Your leaves should have 1/4" of the white background past the points before you join your blocks. like the 2 smaller points on the right block. If you square the pictured blocks up, you will loose some of your points, but hey, have you seen what leaves look like in nature? Rarely perfect!!!
