4 years ago my daughter was expecting her 3rd child, and first girl. I bought fabric to make a quilt - some variation of a 9 patch. Well, life (and work) got in the way, and the baby was born before the quilt was even started. So my daughter asked me if I could make a twin size instead. Before I got that started, she wanted me to make a sampler quilt. I did get that started, but before I got all the blocks done she was pregnant with another girl. So, would I please make two twin size quilts. She requested the size and suggested the checkerboard pattern. They are both completed! And the baby is only one. This is the quilt for the almost 4 year old. The "E" block is her initial. Ellie loves her quilt with her initial on it. I also made a doll quilt and a valance to match.
