Others have said that you're giving it, and let the recipient figure out what to do with it. True ........................buttttttttt .... if you give it to them "ready to go", I bet it will get hung up a lot quicker! Otherwise, they may set it aside as they aren't sure what to do with it and how to do it. Or may think it's meant to be a table topper ... and you may be disappointed, with no fault to them.

In all honestly, I'd finish it up, ready to hang, complete with the hanger ..... and even a hook/nail for the wall!!
I looked up this method. Honestly had never seen it before. It looks so much easier to add to the quilt, and makes so much more sense than a lot of the sleeves I've seen. I like the part about having a lower set of sleeves so you can leave a rod in there and prevent the wall hanging from curling up. I'll think I'll use this with my next wall hanging, which I'm working on now.

Why would anyone object to this? And anyway, if the person making the wall hanging goes to all this trouble to provide the person getting the gift with what they need to hang it, I should think the person being gifted would be absolutely delighted. I know I would be!

The lady in the store obviously only knows one way of hanging quilts and is not open to newer ideas. Doesn't sound like she wants to change either. Just give her a wide berth, and feel sorry for her.
