However the quilting is done it should compliment the pieced top, when it gets too heavily quilted it seems to distort the piecing. Heavy quilting doesn't give me the snuggly/cuddly feeling of a quilt. Also, look at the Amish or Mennonite quilts, these quilts get used and are real beauties.
