Check the tracks and the rollers that run on the tracks. The tracks can pick up lint and dirt. The wheels can show wear and need replacing if they don't run freely anymore or are split.
Mine has one wheel that likes to jump out of the track. I just pop it back with a screwdriver and it works fine again for a few quilts.
I try to think of it as a character trait.
