Use Christmas cookie cutters to cut out the crazy quilt ornaments mentioned above. Use a muslin backing, sew odd shaped scraps onto it. Make a piece about 20" x 20" or size easy for you to handle. Then add backing and batting, quilt with the preprogramed stitches on your machine with contrasting threads and maetallics, top stitch rickrack, ribbon, lace on then trace and cut out. Use glue to add glitter along the edges or zigzag.
:( I love your whole idea...except the pre-programmed stitches....I have the most basic machine EVER and I'm dying for a new machine!! Hubby says I don't sew enough to constitute a new machine, can't afford one anyways, but I've had my eye on this Brother machine in Wal-mart for months, $400 and has I think 75 stitches and fully digital.......somday!
