I think if it was a quilter that the bed jacket is for, it would be fun to do a small block on the pocket.

Also, I would make each piece (bed jacket, gown, pants) have the same color scheme, with a bit of fabric running through all pieces, so it would be easy to mix and match. For example, do pink & brown. Some pieces would have pink & brown stripes mainly, with a bit of trim or a pocket made from the other fabrics. While another piece may have a preally pretty pink and brown paisley and just be bound in the stripe. But becuase they coordinate, either pair of pants would go with either gown and the jacket would match all by being a patchwork of all the fabrics.

Also, maybe make a small patchwork tote bag for hand sewn projects, magazines, etc.
