Some people use old cutting boards cut down to size. There is a company called Bag-E-Bottoms sold thru Lazy Girl Designs. These are different sized acrylic purse bottoms and are very sturdy. Many quilt store online and brick and mortar sell these. Or, if you know someone who's handy, buy a large acrylic or plexiglass sheet and have them cut to size.
