You can still do it with prewashed ... so there's no need to find new fabric.
I had prewashed mine. I was doing it in a courseand when they told me don't wash, I said, oh, I already did. The teacher wasn't the least concerned and simply said to press it well, and starch it up. That way the layers slide nicely as you're stacking them up for precision matching of the layers.

Thank you. I'll try one or two and see how it looks. Like your flowered fabric, mine is also flowered. Making smaller cuts is a great idea. Your quilt is so pretty.

Thanks for the kind words on my quilt. Each OBW holds surprises and even if you use the same fabric, you'll get different results.
I wouldn't do the smaller cuts again ... I did that for the 4PP, just because I didn't know if I'd like it. Now that I understand the process, I'd just leap into it. Though it's a good way to "test" and make sure by cutting the selvedge edge, rather than across the WOF.
