I have experienced fabrics of higher and lower quality at my LQS as well as WalMart and others such as Hobby Lobby, JoAnns and Hancocks. When our WalMart had fabric department, I have seen one of our LQS owners come and buy fabric at WalMart and sell it in her store at a higher price. My experience is just because it is an LQS, the quality is not always top of the line. I think you have to look for quality wherever you shop. IMHO

Same quality and feel as we have been getting at JoAnnes around here lately. It is much cheaper to. I even recognize some of the names. It is a matter of picking and choosing. Probably like everywhere but the LQS who sell high quality fabrics.
