Years ago I did some computer rescueing in Farmington NM and stayed with the office manager. We exchanged Christmas gifts -- we send live lobsters and she sent me a beautifyl hanging bunch of Chilles -- I still have them hanging from a beam at the cottage. It is a reminder if a pleasant time

According to my friend in Los Cruses, they spell it chille not chilli LOL

Don't know if you've seen them, but in the SW (Arizona, New Mexico, S.California) real chili peppers are put into wreaths and used as Christmas decorations, or they can be year-round kitchen decorations in various shapes. Christmas light manufacturers make their lights in those shapes too.
