Yes, but the borders would/should be also layered and chenilled.

Otherwise, you've got these flimsy borders with a really heavy center.

I'm sure you can find some coordinating fabrics to the panel to use.

eta: yes, the borders should be sewn on before the chenilling.

The channels can go in different directions on different pieces (or even the same one.
