As a pet groomer, take him to a local groomer, not Petsmart or Petco, and have him bathed and de-shedded. He'll still shed, but not as much. I have a customer with a lab that comes in every 2 weeks for a bath and deshedding and he says the dog rarely drops a hair. Of course, not everyone can afford to do that. If you had your baby done 3 times a year you'd be surprised how much it could help. Maybe someone here could refer you to a good groomer in your area or ask your friends.
