Ah life is a balance, isn't it? As a farmer/farm wife I experience this type of rhythm. Wake up to DH bringing cows down to the barn and the churn of the milker pump starting. Get a cup of coffee and start the day--taking care of calves, then what chore needs to be done next. ( I should be bill paying right now  ) until the calves are taking care of again and the day is over. The weeks when I have various non farm committments (dental appts., grocery shopping, quilt guilds.) taking me away are when the balance gets upset and I have to adjust. I fully understand what you mean.
Interesting discussion and again graceful beautiful fabric.
