How 'bout sesame seeds? This Charleston recipe is one of my favorites- tiny, crispy, addicting bites of bliss.

Charleston Benne Wafers

½ c. Benne seeds, toasted (sesame seeds)
¾ c. soft butter
1 large egg, beaten
1 - ½ c. flour
¼ tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 c. light brown sugar

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg. Stir in dry ingredients. Drop by ½ teaspoons on waxed paper lined cookie sheet - Leave room to spread. Bake 10 minutes at 325. Allow to cool. Store in closed tin for freshness.

To toast seeds: Place on ungreased cookie sheet in 350 oven for 10 minutes. Stir once or twice. Seeds should be golden brown.
