i was at work in the boston ma terminal when a girl that worked for me came in & said a plane had hit the towers. i assumed that it was a small plane and thought it was an accident. once she came in, i had to run out to the recruiters office and drop off some papers for my ds. i was watching with the marine, navy, air force, army & coast guard recruiters when the 2nd plane hit. we were all just stunned silent when the air force recruiter said "where the f&^% are we?" then said "sorry ma'am."for swearing in front of me..

i went back to work & we turned on the radio & listened all day. we have 2 customers, boston scientific & haemonetics, that ship medical supplies. both thier traffic managers called me very early on, looking for info on how fast we could get empty trls there & how fast we could move it to nyc...

sadly, the equipment was not needed.

came home early from work, the mass pike was free as all the state workers had been sent home and boston was shut down for all intents & purposes.

it was a tragic day, but one that made me realize how resiliant americans are, and how willing to help one another. i'm proud to be an american and thankful for our military personnel, fire fighters & all first responders & their families that sacrifice so much.
