I like this idea... a friend did it for a reunion and had everyone do whatever on the 12" block she sent them with a fabric pen ( some people were creative and did crossstitch, drew something or just signed ,inculding everyone from that family that was attending) and had a specific time for it to get back to her so she could do the quilt (used their colors) and it came out beautiful...
