One Block Wonder is a term coined by Maxine Rosenthal for her quilts, which are made of one fabric only. They can be made from hexagons or octagons (with added corner pieces to make the blocks square). In either case the fabric is layered so that the same motif lines up through all the layers, and then it is cut into triangles of the appropriate size and shape. The result is lots of kaleidoscopes across the quilt. The pattern is quick and fun to do, but you have to select an appropriate fabric. I highly recommend the OBW books.
