Thank you for your kind remarks! The FW was born in 1959 and I call her Sweet Pea. She is in really fine condition. I bid on her on eBay late one night (about 1-2 AM) and didn't think I had a chance to get her because I had always been out bid before on the FW's on eBay. They usually go for about $400 or more in fine condition. My bid was $199 and that's was all I could spend. However, I was the only bidder and won! Wasn't that a treat!! I didn't realize I had won til the next day checking my emails.
The machine in my avatar is the Spartan that I paid $20 for.
I also have a green Singer 185 with green cord and foot pedal that I paid $20 for at a Pawn shop, and another Spartan that needs work, a Singer Centennial that cost me $70 that works fine. I have a Kenmore I bought new in the late 80's; a Viking Designer 1 and 2 sergers! I am looking for a Singer treadle to finish (if possible) my collection of machines. My husband asked me why I want another machine and I told him, "I just need it!" That's what my DGD used to tell him when she wanted another "My Little Pony" which she would get. I figured if it worked for her, it would work for me!!
