hugs and kisses was my first guess, as well. when i googled hugs and kisses, i found many variations with that name. i got out my EQ and played... this is the block and layout from it for the quilt that pita2010 pictured. i hope this helps anyone who might want to make this quilt. it's lovely.
I decided to play with this as a 3 color pattern. Notice that on one, I cut the other corners. This simple pattern is rather flexible.
