I did that a couple of years ago and then I donated the ones I am least fond of to Goodwill. Made some room to spread out my stash. I try to keep my stash visible and store it on shelves wrapped around carboard. Then I can "shop" in my own sewing room. I often let others "shop" there too. Actually good friends and members of our quilting group. Comes in handy when I need "just one piece" and I get to "shop" theirs.
