I was just thinking the same thing... I am sure she is clueless about the cost of the materials. She can go to a Christmas Tree shop and buy something made overseas for next to nothing and doesn't realize how cheap that is.... I know my DDIL had no clue that to buy the fabric/bats/backing for her queen sz quilt that my DM made them as a wedding gift cost about $200. She found out by asking a clerk at JoAnn's. What an eye opener. I think she thinks handmade means a cheaper way to give a gift!!
