I recently bought a free motion couching foot for my Bernina. I wanted to experiment with it so I grabbed up a bunch of left overs and scrapped them together. I FMQ with regular thread to give me a stable foundation and then got out a bit of leftover baby yarn and went at it. I found out, 1. slower is better and 2. always make sure you have a loose pool of thread to pull from.
Next time I am going to do this with a free motion zigzag rather than a straight stitch.
With the help of a thrifted belt for a handle I turned it into a new bag. I thought it looked a bit like tapestry, well a bit like it from the back of a horse speeding by.
I will definitely be doing this some more and look forward to using some of my more exotic yarns.
