Otis-try the choc gravy on pancakes...to die for! My dad's family did them.

My stepbrother's grandmother made the best german choc cake from scratch...and I loved her fried ham. She was a wonderful cook.

My mom's fried chicken and potato salad were very yummy.

My fav food my grandma made was her spaghetti and homemade sauce.

I have 2 funny memories of cooking disasters I did. The first one was my first attempt as a child to make cookies. I used salt instead of sugar. One of my parent's friends ate one and bless his heart he somehow finished it and said it was good...my 2nd memory was when I was PG w/my 1st son. I saw this recipe on a potato chip bag for a tuna casserole using the chips (sour cream and onion). I thought it sounded good (a PG thing I'm sure) and made it...let's just say my DH and DB didn't agree with my opinion of it and leave it at that...
