You can get 12, 9.5 inch squares from a 1 yard cut of fabric, 24 with 2 yards, plus another 1/3 yard. So 2 1/3 yards total. If your lqs will cut 9.5 to 10 wide 1/4 yard cuts, 2 1/4 would be enough.
