The important part is to pay attention to accuracy. It's like putting tile down on a floor. If you have one off even a fraction of an inch then when you get to the other side your error is magnified. That is why I like the cut down so much. You can control the size of each paw so much better.
I have thought about doing this as a tutorial. You can use the technique for any size quilt block. Most of my stuff is adjustable to any size. You don't have to do miniatures to do what I do unless you are making a small project.
