I agree. I feel honored. This was a lady who quilted "old school" like my grandmother. I remember sitting as a little girl at my grandmother's table watching her cut fabric scraps into precise squares and hand piecing them together. I have a big folder of this lady's patterns, most of them carefully drawn templates of cardboard. They are very interesting. I intend to finish one of the patriotic lap quilts and give it to my friend who got the fabric for me, and donate the rest to someone I know who works with Quilts of Valor. This quilter was so very patriotic that I hope this will honor her memory. Her family cleaning out the aparatment was at a loss for what to do with these items, they were down to the wire on getting things cleared out. They didn't know any quilters and were delighted to find someone to take the fabric who would appreciate it. And I do!
