ive used minkie on many quilts- it tends to be stretchy-so needs some special care.
it makes wonderful soft-fluffy-cozy quilts.
as fro tying- i have a friend who tied hers- she made sure the ties were every 4" in a grid- it has held up for about 4 years now- still as lovely/cozy as when it was new.
just be mindful of the stretch= you need to smooth it without stretching it-otherwise it will become wavy.
