I started out with Coats and Clark, hated the lint and found a lot of knots and slubs on the thread. Then I started using Star (slightly better, but still a C&C product I think). Lately I've been using Superior's Bottom Line almost exclusively in the bobbin and often as the top thread as well. It's very fine, so I seldom have to change the bobbin. I buy it on the big cones, usually at machine quilting shows, so it's very economical, there is no lint, and it takes up almost no room in the seam.
