I made this lap quilt as a Christmas gift for my sister-in-law to use on the swing in her newly enclosed back porch. She decorated the room in black and white with just a touch of red, thus the choice of colors for the quilt. This one is 44" x 65" and I quilted it with the Cotton Theory method; my previous quilt was a king-size, so this one seemed really easy!

S-I-L is a big Florida Gator's fan and I'm born and bred Crimson Tide gal, so I slipped in a little SEC-rivalry joke on the back of the quilt.

I prefer every-fabric-in-the-box scrappy quilts, so it was hard to work on a black and white quilt.

The back of the quilt has a touch of red to go with the decor of the room.

I tried a variety of fancy stitches on the black & white vertical strips.

S-I-L bleeds Florida blue & orange. Do you think she will notice this one little piece of Alabama fabric on the back of the quilt?

The Quilt Inspector prefers black and white quilts for obvious reasons.
