Welcome to our little quilting slice of heaven. After living in Heidelberg for 3 years, (Thanks to Uncle Sam) I wanted to return - and stay. I love my homeland, but there really is a mystique about Germany that captured my heart. Next best thing for me was to host exchange students from there. We hosted 19 students before getting them from other countries. Now, our visits are to see our "children" and "grand kids".

The quilting in Germany is distinctive. When I presented a bed size quilt to one of my kids, no one in the family had seen anything like it. (Because the bed system is so different.) Quilt shops are few and far between, and the fabric prices are (what I consider) exceptionally high. The workmanship is phenomenal! I see differences in quilting regionally here too. Still the quality, and design, of the German quilting reflects the folk lore of the regions. Through media, such as this, we can appreciate the differences of our styles, and I like your style.
