No matter how you do it the numbers aren't going to change. You still will have to make that huge number of units involved. The differance is in how you chose to work it.
I cut strips and do it assembly line style. I cut several at a time. Then I sew the strips assembly line style. I sew them flag style. THen cut them apart. then cut out the HSTs assembly line style. the use them however I choose to use them.
We do thousands of them at a time this way. I have sold to a local gift shop for 12 years and we do alot of these ahead and store them. I have organizers full of HSTs sorted by color.
When you do it assembly line or flag style you save time and it is less of a hassle. you aren't precisely cutting anything out but the square. No triangle cutting or lots of trimming. No dogears. Little to no waste.
