In preparation for my upcoming hip replacement surgery, I got my flu shot today at my Kroger pharmacy. Needle-less! A new one on me. A special instrument actually uses a blast of air to inject the substance through the skin. Just a bit of a sting, sort of like a really good pin prick.

He did tell me that about 20% of people this year seem to be getting a skin reaction to the shot given this way. And I already know I'm one of them. :(

My arm itches pretty good at the site, I'm trrying so hard not to scratch it. Took an anti-histamine earlier today, but forgot to ice it when I got home. I'm now thinking about how I can protect it from unconscious scratches during sleep. :?

Anyone else gotten their flu vaccine by needle-less technology?
