You can miniaturize most of them as long as they don't all ready have tiny little pieces that would become miniscule after reduction. Remember that your seam allowances will get "reduced" also if you're using a copier to reduce the patterns so you have to re-draw or remember to increase the seam allowances (all around the edges of the units). It's not a big deal once you get a rhythm going. I just foundation pieced a bunch of scraps onto 5" paper squares and I only shorted the seams on a couple of the first blocks I did. I made sure the fabric was hanging over the edges of the paper on all sides by at least 1/4". Once I got into a rhythm, I didn't have any more issues and it was no big deal to fix the couple that I screwed up by sewing on another little scrap of fabric. Nobody is going to see it with all the other hundreds if not thousands of seams in a paper pieced quilt.
