There is an excellent tutorial on the QB done by cutebuns for OBW. These patterns all use the repeat in fabric to stack and cut different shaped pieces. The shape of the pieces and how they are put together usually determine the blocks name. One of the easier patterns is 4 patch posies because it only uses 4 repeats and 4 pieces to form a square. If you go to search and type in the names of the quilt and look for tutorials, you should find what you want to try.
