Blackside is simply black. Godzilla is the crinkle finish. Attachments did come in the blackside...but I've only seen a few of them...
"Simply black" means no decals beyond the name?
I have a hemmer, and something else (although I don't remember what) that are black. I always wondered!
I wish, somewhere out there in Internetland, there was a page with ALL of the Singers on it, chronologically, so you could go look at a picture and figure out what you'd found! On a fairly regular basis, someone posts one I've never seen before.

What I meant by "simply black" is that the parts of the machine that are normally chrome or nickle plated are instead blacked like a gun barrell would be...they still put the decals on them. :)
