Karen and Rebecca here each have made and posted this wonderful tote and I absolutely loved their versions and had to give it a try! The pattern even comes with a limited license to sell.

For my first one, I did it in mod 60’s pop art looking fabrics. Pretty much stuck to the pattern, except for souped up inner pockets and an adjustable strap. This is a fun pattern to sew.

The second time around I was making it for my DD out of a wonderful corduroy paisley that she picked out 11 years ago.
She wanted the purse to have a zipper. Aaacckkkk! Zippers and I are not on cordial terms, but I finally persuaded this one to cooperate. The other changes I made were that I lessened the curve of the bottom so the bag could stand on its own and I made the inner pockets more useful. The last change is that I added a top flap with a tiger eye button to weight it. I have to say I enjoyed sewing the original pattern more, because I had trouble with that dang zipper! But my DD is quite happy with her purse, therefore… sew am I! LOL.
