I lived in Clark County for 8 years. Those guys are the nicest bunch of people you could ever hope to meet. We had ceiling cable heat and it was my first experience with this type of heat. My DH was out of town, I had an 21 month old and was 6 months pregnant when I started to smell something burning. I looked around and noticed a scortch mark on the ceiling that was getting bigger as I watched. I turned off the thermostat and called 911 then took my son out to the driveway to wait. The fire dept was there super fast. As it turns out that type of scortching is caused from a short at a splice in the heating cables. It rarely actually starts a fire however they checked everything out completely before they left and never made me feel silly for calling.
