Charlee did you go to the White site under "Serial Numbers/Dating List" and see if your serial number is in there? I'd check that before calling White, just in case it is there, but be aware there are like 42 pages of serial numbers to go through!

Yep...and the only place that this serial falls is under VSII, 1928. This isn't a VSII tho...it's a Singer clone of the 27... I'm not entirely sure how much I trust that listing either, but I'm sure it's fairly close...when I called White, she had originally told me the 1928 date, but then backed up and said the Number 8 machines were "different"...I then got the date 1934. Who knows? ~grin and a shrug~ It's a machine...it's black...it's pretty...and it's got a shuttle... I'm ok with "about" when it comes to age! :lol:
The same site doesn't have a date for my AG Mason...and I've seen contradictory stories that AG Mason was indeed a separate manufacturer of machines until it sold out to White in 1916...
I think a lot of speculation goes into ANY research with the weight given to the preponderance of the evidence...
