A couple of years ago I started a small cathedral windows project, doing it entirely by hand while traveling. I finally took the two squares and made a bag (big enough to use as a carry on) (this part was done by machine). The bag itself is made of prequilted fabric. I have a zipper top and a slip pocket on each side; more slip pockets inside.

As you can see, I used two different versions of the window placement on the front and back.

Although it's pretty in the light, muslin-colored fabric, it soiled easily even in its first use. However, it came through a machine washing just fine. Next time I'll use a darker color background.
